Sizing Tips
New size chart! Our crop top sizing recently changed and our underwear sizing changed from number to letter sizing.
Boxer Briefs. Standard ‘men’s’ sizing. Very stretchy and quite flexible in sizing, especially for softer bodies. It’s not unusual to fit two sizes —you know best if you like a more snug or roomie fit. Hip fit comfortably stretches 7 inches beyond chart listing.
Briefs (aka panties). Only reference the low waist measurement for these garments.
Crop Tops. Measurements listed are of the garment —not your body. Length is measured from the center shoulder seam, vertically past the nipple, down to the bottom shirt hem.
We recommend choosing a size at least 2 inches wider than your body measurement for a typical t-shirt fit. Size up for a roomier fit. Or measure your favorite shirt at home to help you choose!
Measure the widest part of your torso for best fit. For some that may be your stomach, not your chest.
Measuring
Knowing your measurements will always get you the best fit, whether you’re ordering Off The Rack or Custom garments!
Measuring Standing
In minimal clothing, stand relaxed, with legs straight and weight evenly distributed, wrap a soft measuring tape around your body, it should be quite snug but not constricting.
Keep the tape as horizontal as possible. Though for low waist measurements, it’s okay to let it contour to your body a bit, slightly higher on your back and lower on your belly - the way a waistband would sit.
Grab a friend, having someone measure for you can be a big help.
Where to Measure
Chest - The widest part of your chest. Often right across the nipples.
Waist - Where your body creases when you bend side to side. Usually a bit above the belly button.
Low waist - At the top of your hip bones.
Hip - The lowest part of your hip, where your leg meets your body and bends. If you have an apron belly, measure below it.
Measuring Sitting
Measure with your legs uncrossed, knees and feet shoulder width apart, or in the natural position you spend most of the day.
To measure your hip, look for the crease where your leg and body meet, near the sides of your body (or the widest part of your hip/butt). The tape may be at a 45 degree angle or even almost vertical. It should cross under your belly.
Measuring laying down, is another option that will give you the same results.
Boxer Brief Styles
Classic

Sizes XL and smaller typically sit an inch or two below the belly button and sizes X and larger sit at the belly button, based on ‘average’ height and torso length.
Trunk
Low-rise waist, 3 inch leg inseam and gender neutral crotch space.
Waist rise is typically about 3 inches below the belly button, based on ‘average’ height and torso length.

Compression & Roomie Front Briefs
Our gender affirming brief (panty) styles are made for anyone with external genitalia who wants either a flatter front look, or women’s style briefs with more crotch space.
Compression
Brief (or panty) featuring an inside layer of compression mesh, creating a flatter front look for folks with external genitalia, while still being comfortable for all day wear.
These are not as compressive or the ideal style for full tucking.
Roomie Front
Our roomie front brief features a midrise waist rise, full bum coverage, no compression, and more crotch space than conventional women’s underwear.
Ideal for anyone with external genitalia, or plus size folks who find women’s undies too narrow in the crotch.
Customs
Brief undies are AU’s newest undie edition! As we work on building up our stock, please consider inquiring about this style or placing a custom order.
Measuring Supplies
Don’t have a measuring tape? Try using a string, phone charger cord etc. to wrap around your body, then measure that along a ruler.
You can order a measuring tape online, or look for them at any craft, fabric or sewing store. Many grocery stores also carry them in the home goods or office supply areas.
